വളാഞ്ചേരി പാണ്ടികശാല സ്വദേശി അജ്മല്‍ മുഹമ്മദ് ഫേയ്സ്ബുക്കിലൂടെയാണ് ബെംഗളുരുവിലുള്ള യുവതിയുമായി ബന്ധം സ്‌ഥാപിച്ചത്. വിവാഹ വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്തു പീഡനത്തിന് ഇരയാക്കി. ഗർഭിണിയായതോടെ പ്രതി മുങ്ങി. ഒരു ലക്ഷത്തിഏഴായിരം രൂപ തട്ടിയെടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്ത ശേഷമാണ് അജ്മലിനെ കാണാതായത്. തുടർന്ന് ഈ യുവതിയെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കാമെന്നും പണം തിരിച്ചു തരാമെന്നും പറഞ്ഞു നാട്ടിലേക്കു വിളിച്ചു വരുത്തി കൊല്ലുമെന്ന് ഭീഷണിപ്പെടുത്തുകയായിരുന്നു. സ്ത്രീത്വത്തെ അപമാനിച്ചതിനും ഭീഷണിപെടുത്തിയതിനുമെതിരെ അജ്മല്‍ മുഹമ്മദിനെതിരെ വളാഞ്ചേരി പൊലീസ് കേസെടുത്തു. പീഡനത്തിനും പണം തട്ടിയെടുത്തതിനുമെതിരെ കർണാടക പോലീസും അജ്മലിനെതിരെ കേസെടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.
